oooohhhhhh mmmyyyyyyy ggooooodddnnneeeesssssss...
like a shag only! i seriously cant feel my legs now. worse than 72km route march siaa. haha. but yeah, I'M A FINISHER OF 42.195KM! :DDD not very satisfied with my timing though, finished at 6hrs 30mins, partly because of the intensive cramps i had after the 21km mark but mostly because i saw JASON TEY at the 38km mark and we walked all the way back to the finishing line. haha!
daniel and i woke up at 145am today with a pathetic 2 hours of sleep and we started preparing whatever we needed for the race. reached there around 315am with thousands of people already there. the sad thing was that i had to run alone cause we had different starting positions but i didnt really mind as i prefer to follow my own pace. and the race started! running early in the morning was really shiok as the weather's cool and there's even a slight breeze. i seriously wonder what would happen if there was a thunderstorm in the morning today. haha. thank God it didnt.
as i was running past orchard central, i saw this damn funny/interesting/disgusting sight. there was a canal with railings along it and many guys went there to form up a line and began to look downwards. YES, THEY WERE PEEING! like super eeeeeeeww laa! but funny also cause its not everyday that you get to see something like that. ahaha. so there were people taking picure of them peeing and the girls running around me were like disgusted TTM. haha.
my actual plan for the marathon was to walk 2km every 8km so as to prevent cramps and over exhaustion but when i hit the 8km mark, i thought everything was fine and i didnt stop! that was a mistake that i had to pay.. at the 20km mark, i started to feel cramps coming from all directions. my thighs, calfs, hamstrings were all giving way and the only 2 letter that appeared in my head was GG. i quickly stopped at the halfway mark to do tons of stretching and muscle rubbing but it was all too late. ): the second part of the marathon was full of run-cramp-stop-stretch-walk. SIAN TTM. really cant believe the nigerians/kenyas sprinting the marathon all the way. they're super sick laa! when i just entered the ECP, they were coming out of it! and it was only one and a half hour and they already hit 28km. they run 42km like we run 100m. REALLY SICK.
other than all the stupid cramps and stuff, it was rather fun cause i managed to meet quite a number of friends during the run, encouraging one another. and there was this guy who had an encouragement tag behind which said 'the early bird promotion was too irresistible! why did i sign up for this! FMLFMLFMLFML!' which was damn funny! haha! felt like tapping his shoulder and saying 'same here'. haha.
it was a great experience overall i must say, having run the longest distance in my life. definitely gonna join next year again but gonna train hard for it unlike this year's one. maybe i'll hit 5 hours next year? haha! and yay, its block leave now so imma gonna rest full time at home tomorrow. dont think my legs are capable of walking anymore. LOOKING FORWARD TO YMCA CAMP! :D
